Consider Mason Pine, Bandung

Located in the housing estate of Kota Baru Parahyangan, Mason Pine is one of the most peaceful 4stars resort in Bandung. Surrounded by mountains and river, the scenery is simply breath taking.

I like the spacious bedroom, comfortable bed and linen. A beautiful bathrobe was nicely laid on the bed accompanied by a welcome plate of pastry on the coffee table.

For sports lover, you may enjoy a relaxing mediating run along the river or hop into one of the most well equipped fitness center where you are spoil by choices from the 6 treadmills, 3 elliptical machines, 2 steppers, 2 static bicycles and some other equipments.

Facing the cafe is the olympic size infinity pool with a back drop of stunning rice paddy fields and lake. The pool is a great option for water activities or just to relax. On weekend, the hotel offers pool aerobics as early as 6am.

For family traveling with kids, Mason Pine has a outdoor playground, a pool with kids slides and kids club that offered lots of games for kiddies during weekend and holidays.

Rest and Relax in the evening. The Spa offers foot relax, body scrub, body massage. The rate is higher than Spa from city but it is still cheaper compared to Singapore, Australia and US. I tried a 90min traditional massage at 240,000 IDR and top up a 35000RP for room service (Approximately US25). Alternatively, allow your body to unwind in the hot or cold tub. The jacuzzi is a true indulge for me especially after a day of facilitation in the seminar room.

Silkair and Airasia are the only 2 carriers that fly directly from Singapore to Bandung. Alternatively, most local will take a 3 hours drive from Jakarta to Bandung. Avoid weekend as most local drives to Bandung for their shopping spree and you can be caught in a massive jam.

Service Rating: Above Average. Service is prompt. However, language may be a challenge. Service staff can understand simple English. They will still say ‘Yes’ even if they do not understand guest’s request. Service is excellent if they understand guest request clearly.
